Sugar Glider Hand Puppet - Hansa Creation

During storytelling, the sugar glider hand puppet by Hansa Creation can easily be worked into small scenes. It also suits puppet theatre and simple role playing games. Play often turns into new animal themed stories.

The sugar glider has a long tail measuring about 20 cm in length.

The sugar glider (Petaurus breviceps) inhabits Australia and New Guinea and weighs just 90 to 160 grams. Its gliding membrane between wrist and ankle enables glides of up to 50 metres. It is nocturnal, lives in groups of up to 12 individuals and feeds on insects, nectar and tree sap. It owes its name to its fondness for sweet plant juices.

Did you know that sugar gliders use their tail as a rudder? During gliding, they steer with fine tail movements and can even fly curves — like a living miniature glider soaring between the treetops.
