The Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) is a semi-aquatic predator from the weasel family. Its dense, water-repellent fur comprises up to 80,000 hairs per square centimetre. Otters are skilled swimmers and divers, feeding on fish, crayfish and frogs. They prefer clean, flowing waterways as their habitat.
