Leopard Cat Hand Puppet - Hansa Creation

As part of imaginative play, the leopard cat hand puppet by Hansa Creation can quickly take on its own role. It works well in puppet theatre, in story based play and in small role playing scenes. New ideas often emerge while playing.

The leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis) inhabits the forests of South and East Asia. Its yellowish-brown fur with black spots resembles a leopard's, though it is only the size of a domestic cat. It is nocturnal and crepuscular, hunts on the ground and in trees, and is an excellent swimmer. Its prey includes rodents, fish, reptiles and birds.

Did you know that the leopard cat is the wild ancestor of the popular Bengal domestic cat? In the 1960s, breeder Jean Mill crossed leopard cats with domestic cats — the result was the Bengal breed, which brought the wildcat pattern into the living room.
